Frequently Asked Questions

How does Foxglove protect my art?

Foxglove applies three layers of protection: metadata stripping (removes EXIF, GPS, and camera data), steganographic watermarking (embeds an invisible ownership signature in pixel data), and adversarial perturbation (adds imperceptible noise that corrupts AI training data).

Does everything run on my device?

Yes. All image processing happens locally on your phone. Your images are never uploaded to any server. Nothing leaves your device.

I uploaded a poisoned image to ChatGPT and it still described it. Is it working?

Yes, that's expected. Adversarial poisoning targets how AI learns, not how it sees. No poisoning tool — including Nightshade — will prevent ChatGPT from describing your image. That tests inference (reading), not training (learning). The perturbation corrupts the learning process when your art is scraped into training data.

Will my watermark survive Instagram compression?

Watermarks are embedded redundantly across the image to improve survival through compression. Save as PNG and let the platform handle compression on their end for best results.

Can I verify if an image has been protected?

Yes. Use the Verify tab in the app to upload any image and check if it carries a Foxglove watermark.

How do I save protected images?

After protecting your images, tap the Save button to save them directly to your camera roll. You can also use the Share button to send them to other apps.

Is Foxglove free?

Yes. Foxglove is currently free with no ads and no in-app purchases.
